Our Church – Who We Are
The staff here at Dexter Lake Church, are inviting, knowledgeable, friendly, and experienced. With a heart for God and for his people, they endeavor to lead not only Dexter Lake Church, but the surrounding community to experience the fullness of Christ in our Vision and Purpose Statement.
Why We are Here
It is our plan for everyone who visits, or regularly attends, our church to become better at all they do and use that to serve Christ, the Church, and the Community.
Church is about people. It’s about those people getting together to worship God corporately and like each other in the process. Want to know what a Dexter Lake service is like. Click here, we dare you!
Making church feel like a close-knit community starts here.
At Dexter Lake, we focus on providing people with opportunities to Become Better…at everything! We have crafted the following environments to help you meet people who share your same season of life and live in your area of town. Young or old, Christian or non-Christian, single, married, or divorced, we have a place for you to connect and grow.
Belong Groups are community Groups that are small groups of adults that meet weekly for friendship, support, and spiritual growth. Members of all ages, stages of life, and spiritual maturity are welcome.
If you want to learn what Scripture says about money, being a mom or being a man, try a Short-Term Group. They’re like Community Groups, but meet weekly for a short term to explore one topic.
Affinity based groups are for people who have matching common interest. Running, mountain biking, sewing, journaling and songwriters, disc golf, anything! Affinity groups make up their own schedules according to its participants. For more information on these groups, contact the leaders of the groups.
Service groups are volunteer based groups that function as a part of serving the church and its attenders through various roles and functions including the worship team, connect team, greeters, parking lot, jail ministry, kitchen, children’s workers, etc. To be involved in these groups you must fill out our D-Team Volunteer form. Please note that some of these positions involve more detailed information as well as protocols to serve. These will be explained by a staff member when you begin the process of joining a service team.
We believe in our students and we believe that with Christ, all things are possible because we have access to the Father.
Ephesians 3:12 – “Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence. We believe in lifting up the name of Christ, and that he will draw all men unto himself.”
Access Students meets every Sunday at 4 PM for weekly worship service and Wednesday evening at 7 PM for discipleship studies in our Youth Building Annex.
New Curriculum Starting in May!
Starting May 2014 we will be embarking on a 3 year curriculum plan called “The Gospel Project.” The Gospel Project for Kids is a Christ-centered Bible study resource that follows a chronological timeline of Bible events—presenting the story of redemption through Jesus like kids have never seen it before! Each week, these stories come to life through video, music, activities, and more.
Parents: You can download the Gospel Project for Kids App to help with your daily devotionals as a family that coincide with the weekly teaching curriculum.
Our nursery program is open to children ages 0 – 2 years old. Mothers who have the need to nurse their babies will find our nursing mothers room comfortable, quiet, and easily accessible for them to use. We also have trained workers for our toddlers.
Cool Jr. is for children ages 2 – 5. Your kids will have a great time learning the Gospel through fun activities, story telling, puppets, and lessons.
Cool Ave is for children ages 6 – 12. Your kids will find it upbeat and full of energy as they are taught God’s word and encouraged through praise and worship to live a life for Jesus.

Our belief is that as people choose to serve, whether in our church, in the local community, or around the world, the impact of that service will change lives—for those serving, for the people they serve, and even for those who see them giving their time to help someone else.
It takes over 75 volunteers to make Sunday happen. Are you willing to help? Our needs are as diverse as the people who attend our services. Find out how you can get involved and serve others in our church community.
As a church, we want to be known for our extraordinary generosity — both time and money — toward those in our local community.
IN THE WORLD
We partner with international organizations to send teams of people from our church to help meet the physical and spiritual needs of at-risk families and children in other countries.
